Great experience. Was worht it 100 percent! This tour gives you a view via a Diarama of the whole Gettysburg Event then takes you to the 25 miles it covers with a guide and you walk through many of the battle scenes. You end up getting the civilian side with the Shriver house tour. At the end you get some free time at Gettysburg to either shop, have a drink or do what ever thrills you. IT is a great way to spend a day.

My daughter and husband did not want to go, telling me they thought i was crazy to book this tour. In the end, they both could not stop raving about how wonderful it was. We are now recommending this tour to everyone we know who is planning on visiting DC. Dale, the battlefield guide as well as our bus driver, were fantastic. We do have one negative which I must comment on. The bus driver explained that we needed to leave at a certain time to get back before we would hit the traffic. Unfortunately it did not work out this way. I believe the driver must stick to the schedule without deviation. Maybe tell guests that they have to be back earlier? Not sure. As a result of being incredibly late, we had to sit through an extra hours worth of traffic. Our other complaint is that general pickett buffet. absolutely awful. We do not eat that type of food and stay away from buffets whenever we can. But we also heard the chinese place next door was no better. We did find out that friendlys has a full sit down menu. would have preferred to eat there instead, but we were given the impression that friendlys only served ice cream. we are from Los angeles and have never heard of friendlys restaurant, so we did not know they had a full menu. So except for these two things, we were okay. We were so late getting back that we had to cancel our plans for the evening which we were disappointed with that. Stick to a schedule!!!

excellent tour. I wanted to give my grandson a tour of an important event in history. He was impressed with the explanation and descriptions. We were both impressed with the Schriver house tour also. I would recommend the tour to anyone who is really interested in an extensive tour of the battle. Delman Piittmann

The tour to Gettysburg was better than I expected. The bus driver was courteous, on time, and described various historical sites after leaving Union Station through to our destination of Gettysburg. The bus afforded DVD videos describing the battle of Gettysburg as we rolled by the countryside. It was nice to see so many foreigners on our bus who found a trip to Gettysburg was very much worth their time and money. Fortunately, the weather cooperated and it was very sunny, balmy, with a high in the 70s. In Gettysburg, near the General Pickett restaurant, we met an outstanding battlefield tour guide. His two hour narrative of the battle was outstanding, and he answered in detail every question. His description was clearly stated, giving most of us a thorough understanding of what took place. Later, the bus driver stopped at the Shriver House for a tour of how civilians withstood the three day battle. The hostess of the house gave us a description and tour of the home which made me feel like I was transported back to July 1863. This stop was a great treat. Our stops at the Evergreen Cemetery to stand in the very area where President Lincoln gave his address was a thrill of a lifetime for me. The last stop at the new visitors center just topped off a great day going back in history. For me, an amateur Lincoln scholar, this trip to Gettysburg was a quest worth reaching for.

Tour guide was the most informative on facts I have ever had! His knowledge on Gettysburg is priceless. I would recommend this guide, if you take the tour. The Battle Grounds are very well preserved, and viewed from the bus nicely. Take the tour, see for yourself.
